Are you still putting your team through one-size-fits-all MHFA training?
Here’s the real issue with most MHFA training…
Problem #: They Overload People With Knowledge They Won’t Use
Employees are overwhelmed with information, so in real moments they can’t recall what to say or do.
Problem #3: They’re Designed for Individuals, Not Workplaces
It can leave employees questioning whether the training applies in a workplace crisis, which causes hesitation when they need to respond.
Problem #4: It Doesn’t Prepare People for Real Crisis
In real crisis situations, employees freeze because they’ve never practiced what to actually say or do.
Problem #4: They Treat Every Company the Same
When a situation is specific to your company, employees hesitate because they don’t know if the training actually applies.
We created Mental Health First Responder training to give your staff a tailored, practical package that guarantees outcome.
#1: Built for the Workplace, Not the Classroom
MHFR is designed for real workplace situations, with clear guidance on roles, boundaries, and responsibilities. Instead of vague theory, your team learns how to respond appropriately and confidently within your workplace. That means your team is NOT left wondering what is appropriate, what crosses the line, or what their role should be in the moment.
#3: Focused on Response, Not Overload
Most mental health training gives employees too much information and not enough clarity. MHFR takes a different approach by focusing on what employees actually need in the moment: how to respond. We strip away unnecessary theory and centre the training on simple, usable frameworks that help people know what to say, how to react, and how to support appropriately, without expecting them to fix, diagnose, or take on more than they should.
#2: Tailored to Your Organisation, Not Generic Content
No two companies work the same way, which is why we tailor supplemental materials to each organisation rather than delivered as a one-size-fits-all course. We shape the content around your structure, culture, procedures, and escalation pathways so your people know what happens next and how to follow the right process. Obviously, this only applies to cohort booking.
#4: Built for Willingness, Not Just Completion
Training only works if employees are willing to use it, which is why willingness sits at the heart of MHFR. MHFR is designed to feel practical, supportive, and easy to apply, so employees leave willing and confident to step forward when it matters. That is backed by our Willingness Guarantee: if your employees are not willing to help after the training, we refund their place.
Mental Health First Responder
A Mental Health First Responder SHOULD BE the person who knows exactly what to do when a crisis happens within the specific context of your workplace.
A few key facts
Definition: A Mental Health First Responder is someone who is trained to provide an initial response to someone in crisis or distress. They are trained to identify immediate actions that will support the individual to cope and keep them and those around them safe, this may involve requesting support from agencies or services, signposting an individual to support, or getting support from others in the organisation.
Who the course is for: The Mental Health First Responder course is designed to be suitable for managers, first aiders and employees who would like to know how to support someone in distress. Participants do not need a background in HR, healthcare, or mental health to benefit from this training.
Aim of the course: The Mental Health First Responder course aims to give people a structure to help others in crisis or distress.
How is it different from general Mental Health First Aid?
Unlike general Mental Health First Aid, a Mental Health First Responder is trained to respond in immediate workplace crisis situations. Their role is not to identify early signs of mental health conditions or provide ongoing intervention, but to respond appropriately in the moment and follow the right workplace procedures. Longer-term support should sit within the organisation’s wider pastoral and management systems.
Outcomes: You will have a member of staff who is certified to provide support to someone who is in crisis or distress, just the same as a first aider is trained to respond to an emergency situation.
Guarantee: This course is covered by our Willingness Guarantee, that means a full refund if someone is not more willing to help in a crisis after the course, click here for more info.
